Info appeal after man’s body clothed only in underpants found floating off Lantau

Hong Kong police have today appealed for information about the body of a man found floating in the sea off North Lantau earlier this year.

Officers received a report of a body in the water off Tai O at around 4:45pm on March 7. The man was brought to shore and certified dead at the scene.

The body is believed to belong to a Chinese male between the ages of 20 and 30, of medium build with short black hair. He was around 1.66 metres tall and only wearing black and grey underpants.

No identity document was recovered, and police say initial investigations revealed the man’s death was not suspicious.

Earlier this month, police also appealed for information on another male body found floating off Lantau in February.
