Hong Kong and Macau residents wanting to spend more than six months in Britain will from Dec. 31 need to prove they are free of the tuberculosis disease.
Even those who are applying for student visas will be required to undergo TB screening, reports The Standard.
This comes as a result of high TB figures noted in Britain by the World Health Organization and the move isn’t an uncommon practice for other countries like United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
