Chairman of the Happy Valley Athletic Association Pui Kwan-kay
Hardcore local football fans won’t be happy to hear about yet another football match fixing scandal!
Last Sunday, six players from the first division football team for Happy Valley were taken away for investigation by the ICAC after losing 5-0 to Sun Hei.
Chairman of the Happy Valley Athletic Association Pui Kwan-kay claimed that he did not know why the players were taken away for investigation and was not responsible for the sponsorship or management of the club. Pui however, admitted that the club is under stress and he’s not optimistic about the club’s future.
Last month, a player from Tuen Mun scored a suspicious own goal during a match against Yokohama FC Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Football Association later said it will start an in-depth investigation.
