Humid weekend ahead for HK before another (minor) cold snap

Despite the temperature seeming to rise quite a lot over the last week or so (it’s currently a balmy 24 degrees as we write this at Coconuts HQ), it appears the warmth – and damned humidity that comes with it – isn’t here to stay.

According to the Hong Kong Observatory, a humid maritime airstream is bringing foggy weather to our shores just in time for the weekend.

Humidity levels are expected to climb up to 85-100 percent, which should induce some really delightful sweating and brow-mopping in Lan Kwai Fong tonight.

Patchy rain showers are also expected this evening, while temperatures could reach a maximum of 23 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Temperatures are supposed to be “falling appreciably” later on Sunday, giving us a nice cold jolt just to add insult to injury (said injury being Mondays, which are an abomination).

The estimated lowest temperatures on Monday and Tuesday are 11 and 10 degrees Celsius respectively, thanks to an “intense northeastern monsoon”.
