Mainly because of the way the government has been dealing with the recent HKTV-license ordeal, the Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying’s popularity has recently reached an all-time record low.
A recent poll conducted by the University of Hong Kong found Leung scored an average of 41.2 marks, 2.8 marks lower than last month.
The support rate for Leung remains at 22 per cent, yet 63 per cent of pollsters are against him, an increase of three per cent from last month.
Leung’s cabinet members aren’t doing so well either: Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Gregory So Kam-leung and Secretary for Development Paul Chan Mo-po were two officials who scored very low marks.
