Hongkongers are more unhappy than their counterparts in Singapore and Osaka, according to a new survey. Boo hoo to that.
Residents’ overall happiness rating is at the lowest it’s been since the City University studies began in 2002, including during the SARs epidemic.
Come on, guys. It’s not that bad… Is it?
More than 1,100 people in each of the three cities were asked to gauge their satisfaction levels in six key areas, including society, leisure & entertainment, public health, politics, the environment and housing.
Just a few red flags in that bunch then.
Hongkongers’ overall happiness score came out at 6.98 (below 7 for the first time), compared to 7.41 for Osaka and 7.56 for Singapore.
During SARs we rated our happiness as 7.11, although probably only because everyone buggered off.
The two grumpiest groups were found to be tertiary students and the unemployed. Apparently having nothing to do isn’t that great after all.
