If you are avoiding travel to Toyko over fears of radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster, forget it — Hong Kong is much worse. Three to four times worse, in fact.
According to non-profit group Safecast, Hong Kong’s level of background radiation is 100 counts per minute, several times higher than that of Tokyo’s. The radiation is most likely from the granite used in construction, though the Hong Kong Observatory said that the level of background radiation in the city did not pose a risk to human health. Seriously?
