Hong Kong woman given 4 years for killing 2 Aussie dads in car crash, but will be released in months

A Hong Kong woman who killed two fathers in a car crash in Australia has been sentenced to four years in jail, but will be released in about three months.

Rachel Wong, 31, has already been in jail for around a year since the crash in Brisbane in August 2014.

She pleaded guilty at Brisbane Supreme Court of causing death by dangerous driving when she hit a car head-on while overtaking another.

Two fathers, Steven Maher and Mark Smith, were killed.

The Hongkonger, who was in Australia on a working holiday visa, will be deported when she is released from jail.

That is likely to be in about three months because of time already served.
