A Hong Kong woman had sex with her father twice — when she was just 19 years old — in order to prevent him from marrying his fiancée, the District Court heard earlier this week.

The daughter, who is now 26, had sex with her father, now 58, twice in 2009. The defendants, who are being referred to as C.C.M and C.P.K in court respectively, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of incest.

In mitigation on Monday, C.C.M’s lawyer said that the woman had offered to sleep with her father out of “misplaced love, infatuation, and devotion to her father”, in the hopes that she could change his mind about marrying his fiancée, SCMP reports.

The pair’s incestuous relationship was reported to the police by C.C.M’s younger brother, who found footage of their sexual encounters. At the time, the boy reportedly did not know that his sister had consented.

Sentencing will take place on June 12th, pending a probation report for C.C.M.
