Hong Kong taxi engines stalling after filling up at Sinopec gas stations

Have you recently been in a taxi that inexplicably stalled in the middle of the street?

Turns out this is not a unique experience: taxi drivers have been complaining that their engines keep stalling, with one man claiming it’s happened 30 times since the issue started 10 days ago.

Most of the taxi drivers who have this complaint appear to have filled up their tanks at Sinopec gas stations, reports Apple Daily.

Auto mechanics who repair taxis with this problem have noticed that the propane has impurities in it, possibly resulting in engine issues.

Poor taxi drivers have been losing money from the time and cost of repairs, and because the meter restarts when the engine stalls during a hire.

The government is looking into the issue.
