Hong Kong resident on board missing Malaysia Airlines flight

The Hong Kong immigration department has confirmed a 45-year-old Hongkonger had boarded the still missing Malaysia Airlines flight.

The 45-year-old woman, Lui Ching, is a Chinese national but had gained Hong Kong’s residency status after staying in the city for seven years.

Hong Kong immigration department claims a Hongkonger on board was not known as there was a spelling error in the passengers name and Ching’s family did not contact authorities for help.
