Hong Kong has recorded zero new COVID-19 infections for the second day in a row, with the total number of cases holding steady at 1,041.

The most recently recorded COVID-19 infection was a 27-year-old woman who flew in from the United States on Monday morning. Two days prior to that, two Hong Kong residents who were evacuated from Islamabad broke the city’s five-day streak without any new cases when they tested positive for coronavirus. All three aforementioned cases were tested upon arrival, meaning that the patients have not come into contact with the general public, unlike the covidiot who spent weeks running around town with symptoms before he thought to get tested.

The city has seen a significant decrease in the number of new COVID-19 cases over the past three weeks, and no new locally transmitted infections at all in the last 17 days. While top health officials have cautioned citizens against completely letting down their guard, the government has relaxed a number of anti-epidemic measures in light of the reduced number of new cases.

As of noon today, there are 127 coronavirus patients under isolation across Hong Kong’s public hospitals. So far, 932 patients who were confirmed or likely to have COVID-19 have been discharged upon recovery.
