Hong Kong reaches World Cup of Darts quarterfinals

Hong Kong dart players Royden Lam and Scott MacKenzie shocked the world yesterday by executing two major upsets on their way to reaching the quarterfinals of the World Cup of Darts.

The unseeded Hong Kong team competed along with 32 other nations for a purse of GBP25,000 (HKD300,000). Lam and MacKenzie first upset seventh-seed Wales in the first round before following up that rousing upset with another victory against tenth-seed Ireland, as reported by Yahoo News.

Sadly, the run for our boys ended in the quarterfinals against second-seed Scotland who boasted world champion Gary Anderson on their roster. Despite the exit, we can definitely look forward to a budding darts dynasty building in Hong Kong. Three cheers for Royden and Scott!
