Hong Kong people furious at more immigrant benefits

After Hong Kong’s top court dismissed the seven-year residency requirement for Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) benefits, giving immigrants a hard-won victory, activists are now clamouring for more benefits for immigrants, enraging Hong Kong residents.

Now, activist organisations are challenging the seven-year residency requirement to qualify for public housing, and nearly 100,000 netizens are opposing the proposed measure with a Facebook group.

Looks like anti-immigrant sentiments in Hong Kong are hitting a peak with the activism, which may make life more difficult for them.
