Hong Kong national sevens rugby player Tom McQueen, 26, is seeking the person who filmed his motorcycle accident in order to present it as evidence to the police.
On Oct. 19 this year, McQueen was driving his motorcycle on Hong Chong Road in Jordan, when he was hit by a car. Luckily, he sustained only minor injuries.
Through sheer coincidence, he came across a video that shows his own accident, filmed from behind by another driver. A Hong Kong Rugby Union employee was sent the video via WhatsApp, and the footage found its way to some other sevens players before it finally came to McQueen, he told Coconuts HK.
However, according to McQueen the police can’t use the video as evidence since they don’t know who filmed it and thus can’t get a statement to verify the footage.
McQueen posted a plea for help to find the owner of the video on his Facebook page yesterday, and it’s already been shared 1,200 times and has amassed 120,000 views. Local media have also reported about his quest.
“It has been great that it has reached so many people so quickly, I’m hoping that we can find the man and he can help the police to sign off on the case!” McQueen said.
Please email us at hongkong@coconuts.co if you have any idea who the filmed the video or if you have any other relevant information.
