A man in Hong Kong has been arrested for assaulting three ferry crewmen after he was asked to put on a mask properly.

The incident happened around 7am on Thursday.

According to local media, the middle-aged man was taking the Star Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central when he was asked to wear his mask properly.

The man refused to listen and instead attacked three crewmen.

Some passengers and other staff members stopped the attack and called the police, who arrested the man after the ferry docked at the Central pier.

The three crewmen sustained injuries to their hands and legs, and were sent to hospital for treatment.
