Hong Kong police arrested a man on suspicion of murder on Friday after he was spotted dragging a wheel board carrying the body of a woman, wrapped in quilt, along a street in Tin Shui Wai.

The force said they received a report at 6am from a passerby who saw a man pushing a wheel board carrying what appeared to be a body along Tin Ha Road in northwestern New Territories.

Officers arrived moments later and arrested the man, who police said was around 25 years old.

Police said that the woman was not breathing and did not have a pulse by the time they arrived. She was certified dead at the scene by paramedics.

The force added that she was in her 20s.

An investigation is underway.

Surveillance footage circulating on the internet shows the man dragging the body on the wheel board.

He can also be seen stopping for a few moments, trying to catch his breath.

In a photo provided by an eyewitness to HK01, the body can be seen falling off the wheel board.

The eyewitness also told the online news portal that she saw legs protruding from the rolled-up quilt.

According to another HK01 report, the arrestee and the deceased were lovers and colleagues.

Those who knew them described the arrestee as having a good heart, adding that he mentioned he was bullied by his girlfriend, the report said.
