Hong Kong journalist killed in Afghanistan

Nils Horner, veteran Hong Kong-based journalist, who had previously worked for the Swedish national radio was killed in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

Horner was reported to have been shot by a gunman in an upmarket district of Kabul. He was in the Afghan capital for the upcoming presidential election in April.

Authorities are trying to find the gunman and Taleban militants have claimed to not have anything to do with the killing.

The Hong Kong Foreign Correspondents’ Club, for which Horner was a member of, issued a statement asking Afghan authorities to find the attackers.
