As Vietnam protestors vandalise and torch alight over 15 factories believed to be run by the mainland Chinese, over oil drilling in disputed waters, the Hong Kong government issues an amber travel warning for Vietnam.
The riots are against China’s recent oil rig placement in the disputed Paracel Islands in the South China Sea.
According to the SCMP, the protestors are looking to vandalise any factory they see with a Chinese word, with several Taiwan, Korean and Japan-owned factories being attacked as well.
Since the riots broke out, the Hong Kong immigration department has received three requests for help from Hong Kong residents in Vietnam.
