Curiosity definitely did not kill the cat in this upcoming futuristic video game called “HK”, which has received much attention on the internet for its stunning visuals and unique character choice. Set in a Kowloon Walled City-inspired dystopian city, gamers and feline fanatics will be thrilled to hear that this adventure videogame lets you play as a cat , making all your fantasies of having nine lives come true.
The creators behind this game are HK Devblog, which consists of two game developers named “Koola” and “Viv” based in the South of France. Right now there doesn’t appear to be any point or objective to the game besides pouncing around as a four-legged creature, but really, what more could you want?
For those who are not familiar with or were not even born during the Kowloon Walled City’s era, this largely ungoverned settlement was home to 33,000 residents by 1987. This enclave was controlled by triads so it’s no surprise that prostitution, gambling and drug use had a prominent place in this densely populated property.
Kowloon Walled City was demolished in 1994 but people still pay tribute to it, including artists such as director Christopher Nolan, who based his Batman trilogy’s Narrows on its cramped quarters and Nivanh Chanthara, whose digital artwork is inspired by old photos of the city.

Sadly, for those who are interested in prowling around Hong Kong with the comfort of sitting behind a computer, the video game is still in its beginning stages of development and won’t be finished for a few more years due to the company’s limited manpower. The developers plan on making “HK” compatible with PCs and consoles like the PlayStation 4, Xbox1, CPC6128 and Atari2600.
Who wants to play this game right meow?
