Get set for four days of gorging galore. IMG is bringing its Taste Festival to Hong Kong in March for the Asia debut of this iconic foodie feast.
Twelve of Hong Kong’s most revered restaurants will be pitching their stalls on the Harbourfront for a marathon of live demonstrations, champagne masterclasses, and a barrage of bites in between.
The line-up is still partially shrouded in mystery, but the event organisers got our mouths watering yesterday, revealing the following Hong Kong festival founders: Aberdeen Street Social, Amber, Arcane, CHINO, Duddell’s, Serge et le phoque, Tin Lung Heen, Tosca, Yardbird and RŌNIN – who casually boast eight Michelin stars between them.

Gus Henderson, Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific with IMG Media, promised the event will make Hong Kong’s pretty pricey food scene accessible to the not-so-flashy masses.
Instead of spending an entire month’s salary on dinner at a Michelin-star resto, attendees can spend as little as HKD108 to sample their pick of over 40 small plates (a.k.a all of them).

Each restaurant will be preparing three signature dishes alongside one “Icon Dish”, created just for Taste.
Coconuts HK got the privilege of sampling some of the delicacies that might be on offer at the fest. Favourites include the Pan-fried M9 Wagyu Beef with Soy Sauce by Duddell’s; Carpaccio of Hamachi with a Salad of Jicama and Confit Fennel, Ginger and Soy Dressing by Arcane; and Raw Hokkaido Scallops, Dashi Jelly, Apple, Shiso, Avocado and Wasabi Purée by Aberdeen Street Social. Good luck remembering those mouthfuls for the day.

“Everyone gets to taste a snapshot of what’s going on in the city,” Arcane’s award-winning Chef Shane Osborn told reporters.
According to Henderson, Hong Kong also beat Singapore and Shanghai in the running for the Asia launch of Taste. Check us. The Taste Festival has previously been held in 22 cities worldwide, including London, Paris and Cape Town.
