A quick-thinking driver got all 80 passengers off of his double-decker bus before it burst into flames at around 7pm on Thursday.
By the time the firefighters got the fire under control, only the frame of the KMB number 42C bus was left behind on Lung Cheung Road in Wong Tai Sin.

Luckily the bus driver, 52, with 25 years of experience under his belt, acted with no delay after some passengers reported smelling smoke, reports Apple Daily.
He stopped the bus and told everyone to get off, making sure no passengers were left behind before he got off the bus himself.

“The driver was really good because he was the last one to get off,” said one passenger.
No one was hurt.
Eight minutes after the evacuation, the bus caught fire and was engulfed in flames so fierce that smoke could be smelled kilometres away.

An engineer told Apple Daily that it’s possible the fire was started by a fan malfunction causing the engine to overheat, or that a short circuit sparked the blaze.
For the paranoid, he also advised that it’s best to sit on the bottom deck and near the middle so that you have easy access to exits.
