Hong Kong government lowers travel alert for Bangkok

The Hong Kong government lowered its travel alert for Bangkok today, reducing its previously most severe black warning to its lowest amber warning.

Hong Kong’s current travel alert system has three ranks, a black alert means to avoid all travel to the destination as compared to amber where residents are asked to monitor the situation and to be cautious when travelling.

However, the government still advises Hongkongers to be alert and avoid protests and large gatherings of people in Bangkok.

The Hong Kong government decided to lower the travel warning in light of Bangkok’s current situation and because the Thai government lifted its state of emergency.
