Hong Kong education centre boss apologises for posing in mock ISIS hostage photo

The boss of a Hong Kong education company has apologised after posing as a hostage in a mock ISIS photo.

Did this guy not get the memo about NOT doing that??

Thomas Yan, CEO of King’s Glory Education Center, on Tuesday posted a photo to his Facebook and Instagram accounts, showing himself and “celebrity physics tutor” C.Y. Chai kneeling on the ground in front of four masked men.

The scene was pictured near China’s Yellow River in Qinghai province as the group took part in a charity walk from Xunhua to Xining.

The caption posted with the photo said, “We met ISIS at Yellow River” followed by three laughing-so-much-I’m-crying emojis… because that shit is SO funny.

Hong Kong netizens predictably jumped straight on it, branding the post disrespectful to the families of ISIS victims. One commenter even said the group was behaving like terrorists themselves with their gross insensitivity.

The posts were soon deleted and King’s Glory was forced to apologise, according to Oriental Daily. Yan also said his actions were inappropriate and careless.

The news comes just days after HSBC sacked six staff members from the UK who took part in a mock ISIS execution video during a team building exercise.
