Local rising artist Marc Allante created this stunning piece in support of Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protests. He wanted it to be “a show of respect and admiration for the Hong Kong people who have continued to impress the world with their non-violent protest regardless of the adversity and unwarranted aggression they have faced,” he told Coconuts HK in a Facebook message.
“I have literally never seen that number of people in one place and showing such respect for one another. It is a really amazing thing to behold.”
Posting the artwork to his Facebook page, Allante wrote that the peaceful protests have made him “immensely proud to be born here and call Hong Kong home”, and that he hopes Hongkongers “stand strong, but also continue their remarkable example of peaceful protest”.
