A 23-year-old man pleaded guilty yesterday to two counts of indecent assault.
He admitted to molesting an eight-year-old Primary 3 student on two separate occasions last October while teaching a computer game design course, reports Apple Daily.
The defendant, surnamed Xie, is currently studying computer engineering at HKUST.
His defense attorney claims he became addicted to watching child pornography cartoons online when he was a secondary school student, and that the habit continued into adulthood.
He sought help from a psychologist and his addiction was under control until last August, when he relapsed.
Xie believes it is the relapse that led him to committing the crime.
After the two incidents, the young girl told her mother, who reported Xie to the police.
He was arrested on Oct. 6 last year.
