Jockey Club announced that the next racing season, starting in Sept. 2014, will see prize money of a record HK$963 million.
The prize money is the Jockey Club’s way of recognising costs of horse ownership and for horse owners to get a fair return on their investment.
There’s also more incentive for horse owners to import quality horses to Hong Kong with prize money of horse races to increase significantly, reports The Standard.
The current racing season ends Jul. 6.
