Yesterday morning a Ferrari 599 F1 was severely damaged in a collision with a frozen meat truck outside the Sha Tin Racecourse.
The driver, aged 43 and surnamed Ho, was apparently heading into the racecourse parking lot when he saw an animal and dodged it, losing control and colliding headfirst with a 5.5-ton delivery truck, reports Apple Daily.
Apparently a friend of the Ferrari owner with a wicked sense of humour said to the unfortunate driver, “Well, just take the insurance money and buy a HKD5-million Ferrari!”
The driver, along with the 42-year-old driver and a 43-year-old passenger of the truck, were sent to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The sports car can apparently accelerate to 100 km/hour in 3.7 seconds, but it does not come with animal collision prevention.
