It’s not a scene you see every day in Hong Kong – a herd of five cattle trotting down a busy road.
A video of the incident was posted to a Facebook group, the name of which roughly translates to “Forum for Happenings on the Road”, on Wednesday.
The clip has since gathered more than 1,100 views.
The Facebook user who posted the video said it was taken by a friend in Kam Tin, a rural neighborhood in Yuen Long in western New Territories.
“It’s so funny,” wrote the poster in the video’s caption.
In the comments section, a netizen joked that it was the Running of the Bulls, the famous event in Pamplona, Spain, that involves people racing beside fighting bulls.
Another told the cattle to “get back on the sidewalks.”
On a more serious note, an internet user noted it was important to drive carefully so as not to hit animals on the road.
Another netizen said that cattle frequently head to that area from Shui Tau Tsuen in Kam Tin, which could explain why a man in the video can be seen casually walking into a 7-Eleven outlet, seemingly unconcerned by the bovines.
While it is unusual to find cattle in urban areas of Hong Kong, they can often be seen roaming around the countryside or in rural areas.
