The scandalous story of the Hong Kong schoolgirls selling hash brownies to spice up their sports day has finally come to an end with a lenient sentence for both teens.
British student Natasha Richards was on Monday handed a one-year probation sentence by Tsuen Wan Magistrates’ Court, wrapping up the story that has been giving Hongkongers the giggles since November 2014.
The 17-year-old Brit and 18-year-old Croatian Dora Radic were arrested after they were found to be selling hash brownies and weed cupcakes at the sports day of the YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College in Tung Chung – the college they both attended.
Last month, Radic was fined HKD10,000 after pleading guilty to “trafficking a dangerous drug”. The judge said the sentence was lenient because Radic showed remorse and has a history of volunteering.
Richard’s probation officer reported that the Brit used to have a drug habit, but a light sentence was deemed suitable as she is young, pleaded guilty and showed remorse.
Stick to addling your brains with alcohol, girls. There’s absolutely no harm in that. JK. Be safe, kids.
