Police investigations reveal that the alleged gunman in the Kowloon Bay shooting had links to the triad.
Police reported that the gunman, Li Tak-yan, had operated a gambling den run by triad group 14K in the Yau Ma Tei wholesale fruit market and police is looking to see if his triad connections helped him obtain the firearms he possessed.
Police are still investigating whether the firearms were smuggled in from the mainland and have been used in other crimes in Hong Kong reports the SCMP.
