Go Green! Hong Kong to host its first St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday

Did you know that Hong Kong has never had a proper St. Paddy’s Day parade? How deprived we’ve been!

But our luck is about to change this Sunday, as the Irish invade and paint the town green.

Hong Kong’s first St. Patrick’s Day parade will feature traditional Celtic staples like marching bands, Irish and Scottish(?) dancers, and off course, everyone’s favourite instrument, the bagpipes.

Hang on, aren’t they Scottish too? Whatever. It all sounds the same to us.

There will also be hints of Asia injected into the fun with dragon and lion dance troupes, presumably dressed in green, or at least suitably drunk.

Things will kick off near Pier 9 and 10 at 2pm before the merry will move on to Tamar Park.

St. Patrick’s Day may officially be next Tuesday, but that shouldn’t stop you from celebrating Ireland’s big day early.

What: Hong Kong’s FIRST St. Patrick’s Day Parade
When: 2pm-5pm, Sunday March 15
Where:  Starts at Central Piers 9 & 10, moving to Tamar Park, Admiralty
Price: FREE!
Dress code: RED – jokes!
