In what we promise is not a trap laid out by vampires, the government has made an urgent appeal to the public to donate blood ASAP as their supplies are running low.
A spokesman for the Hong Kong Red Cross blamed the recent low number of blood donations on the cold and the fact that people are away for the holidays.
The Red Cross needs at least 1,100 donors a day for the next two weeks in order to keep up with demand and to keep the supply level healthy.
So give your blood today! From now until Jan. 4, you’ll even get a Christmas-themed badge and a luggage tag for your time and bodily fluids.

With tomorrow being a holiday, there’s no excuse – though we’re not sure what the policy is on blood with heightened alcohol levels…
All you need to do is bring your HKID card to one of the donor centres.
To check if you’re eligible to give blood, take this handy online quiz here with more information on eligibility available here. (FYI if you have lived in the UK for more than three months between 1980 and 1996 you are not eligible.)
