Girl, 17, allegedly raped in Lan Kwai Fong public toilets during New Year’s Eve festivities

Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl in Lan Kwai Fong during New Year’s Eve festivities.

The teen, who was not named, had gone out to the popular nightlife district to celebrate the new year on Saturday evening. According to Apple Daily, the girl said she was about to make her way home in the early hours of Sunday morning when a man dragged her to the public toilets and allegedly raped her.

He reportedly fled the scene immediately afterwards. The teen returned home, where she told her parents what happened, and filed a police report at Kwun Tong Police Station at around 11am. 

The 17-year-old was taken to hospital for a medical exam. Based on the description she provided, police are searching for a man aged 20 to 30, believed to be of South Asian descent, with short hair. He is around 1.7 metres tall and was wearing trousers and a long-sleeved striped top at the time of the incident.
