Four people were injured in a shooting at a park in the eastern part of Hong Kong Island on Tuesday.

Witnesses told police that gunshots rang out in Quarry Bay Park near Taikoo Shing around 3pm, according to Apple Daily.

A police spokeswoman told Coconuts HK that one female has been arrested. Two men and two women, one with a head injury and another with a shoulder injury, went to the hospital and were conscious.

RTHK reported that police believe all five people involved knew each other.

The shooting left some people rattled, in a city where gun violence is rare.

Journalists with Chief Executive Carrie Lam, who is in Beijing, said that she expressed concern over the shooting, while adding that Hong Kong remains a safe city.

There were three gun deaths in Hong Kong between 2010 and 2013, according to gunpolicy.org.
