A Dutch man was arrested this morning after drunkenly punching out a bar’s glass window in Tsim Sha Tsui, sending shards of broken glass falling onto the street below.
The incident took place just before 2am this morning at a bar at 10 Knutsford Terrace, a building home to many bars and restaurants. Local outlets didn’t name the specific bar in question, and it wasn’t clear from reports which floor the bar was located on.
According to HK01, the 40-year-old Dutchman — who was with a friend at the time — started drunkenly arguing with a member of bar staff, ultimately storming into the bar’s bathroom and punching through a glass window.

Shards of glass from the window then rained down on the street below, prompting passers-by at street level to call the police.
A police spokesperson confirmed to Coconuts HK that the Dutch man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for examination in a semi-conscious state.
He has not been formally charged yet, and police couldn’t confirm what the argument was about.
No one else was injured in the incident.
The case is being handled by the Yau Tsim district’s criminal investigation team.
