Julia Leung Fung-yee, Under Secretary for Financial Service and the Treasury, has apparently resigned – the government is believed to make an announcement sometime today.
This is kind of crazy as this is the fifth official to quit the administration since Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying took office. It might be he’s just as bad as a boss as he is a Chief Executive!
People’s Power lawmaker Albert Chan Wai-yip didn’t hesitate to take a jab at CY Leung, saying that Leung’s resignation shows that even those working with the Chief Executive lacks confidence in the current government, as reported by The Standard.
The vacant position however, is rumoured to have been snapped up quickly by James Henry Lau, Hong Kong Mortgage Corp’s retired chief executive. Lau’s appointment is said to be announced by the government soon reports The Standard.
