Filipino man, 63, dies at Ocean Park after riding ‘Mine Train’ roller coaster

A 63-year-old Filipino man named Sales who was visiting Hong Kong with his family on a group tour, died yesterday morning after riding Ocean Park’s “Mine Train” roller coaster.

It is suspected that he died from a heart attack. The man had been suffering from heart disease for the past 20 years, reports Apple Daily.

He apparently rode the Pirate Ship and decided he was up for a more intense challenge, that of the Mine Train.

Later, as he and his wife were leaving the park, he collapsed. His wife screamed for help, and Ocean Park’s first aid staff arrived at the scene, followed by an ambulance. The man was certified dead soon after.

Warning signs at the entrance to the Mine Train state that people with heart problems should not ride the roller coaster.
