The Filipino domestic helper of a former TV star plunged to her death from a 21st floor apartment yesterday morning, reportedly after admitting stealing from her employer.
The Filipina, said to be named Janice and aged 29, confessed to pawning jewellery worth HKD600,000 that belonged to her employer Celia Sie, a former TVB actress and radio host, Apple Daily reports (as translated by EJI).
After growing agitated when Sie suggested they go to the pawn shop, Janice reportedly jumped from the kitchen window of the upmarket flat in The Riva estate, Yuen Long, at around 9:55am.
Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene and police are treating the matter as a suicide. No note was found.
