A 38-year-old Filipino helper named Curutan hung herself in her bedroom at her employer’s Wonderland Villas flat in Kwai Chung after suffering from a miscarriage.
The 69-year-old male employer opened the helper’s door after knocking repeatedly and not getting a response.
He found her dead around 10pm last night, having hung herself with a black nylon rope, and she was bleeding from self-inflicted wounds on both wrists. He called the police and the ambulance verified that she was dead. She left no suicide note and had a good relationship with her employer, but it was suspected that she was unhappy about suffering a miscarriage.
