Filial Appiety: App helps you figure out how to address your relatives in Cantonese

Have so many Chinese relatives that you can’t remember what you’re supposed to call them anymore?

An app called “Three Aunts, Six Grandmothers” – a saying that used to refer to women with shady jobs but now means a group of gossiping women – will make sure you never make a Canto faux-pas and call your cousin’s mother’s uncle the wrong thing.

The calculator-like interface allows you to input your relative’s exact relationship to you, after which it spouts out the correct way to address them.

Maximize your lai see loot by making sure you don’t piss off your relatives, and download the app here (Sorry – for Android only).
