A woman imprisoned for drug trafficking in Hong Kong has been hospitalised after slashing her wrists and neck with a hair clip.
According to Hong Kong’s Correctional Service officers, the 46-year-old “turned emotional” inside her cell at the Lo Wu Correctional Institute at around 12:35pm yesterday.
She reportedly used a hair clip in her possession to slash at her neck and wrists while banging her head against the wall.
Officers intervened as soon as they realised what was happening and sent the woman for examination at the internal medical centre.
She was later transferred to public hospital for further examination and will be visited by a clinical psychologist soon.
