If you want a child to do what you say, you have several options; the carrot, the stick, and the threaten to throw them off a balcony, apparently,
A 42-year-old man, surnamed Leung, was arrested at his home on Robinson Road in the Mid-Levels on Wednesday night after allegedly picking up his son and threatening to throw him from the balcony for failing to finish his homework.
Sing Tai Daily reports that the father of two children, aged seven and five, also hit the boy in the stomach after arguing about the homework with his ex-wife. We’re not sure whether the boy in question was the five or seven-year-old, but either way, we’re going to say it probably wasn’t a fair fight.
The unemployed man is said to live in a luxury flat with the two children, while his ex-wife and her family live in two other apartments in the same building, no doubt leading to some very awkward elevator moments.
The ex-wife’s father is reportedly a well-known local businessman who owns a football club.
Leung was arrested and subsequently bailed on charges of child abuse after the boy’s grandmother called the police. Officers apparently arrived on the scene armed with shields and took the boy to hospital.
