Family of policeman who died while jogging yesterday donated his corneas

Sai Kung Tang Shiu Kin Sport Ground, where Pang was jogging

A policeman who was jogging around noon yesterday suspected to have died from a heat stroke was a great policeman, colleague, husband and father, reports the Apple Daily.

The 45-year-old policeman, surnamed Pang and nicknamed peanut, joined the force in 1992. Last year he was transferred to the Sai Kung squad that covered an area that was more physically demanding, so he kept himself fit – which is why yesterday, was no exception, before going on duty, he and a colleague went jogging when he collapsed and declared dead on the way to the hospital.

Pang was the family’s sole breadwinner, he has two daughters aged 13 and 18.

Pang was a committed blood donor, donated his blood every three months, and have signed on as an organ donor. His wife therefore, respected his wishes and donated his corneas.
