A baby girl was one of three people rescued from a car that had flipped onto its side while driving along a busy road yesterday.

The incident happened at around 5pm, just after hundreds of protesters made their way into Civic Square outside the Central Government offices, which served as the endpoint of the China National Day rally.

Protesters gathered at the rally rushed outside after hearing a faint “bang” coming from the main road.

According to Apple Daily, the car, a red Alfa Romeo, was heading towards Sai Wan when the car suddenly flipped on its side just outside Admiralty Centre.

The newspaper reports the driver was a 39-year-old male surnamed Lo, and he was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

His passengers — a 33-year-old woman surnamed Chan and a baby girl — were not injured in the car accident.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
