A man trying to withdraw money from an HSBC cash center in Yau Ma Tei yesterday was nearly robbed.
The victim, surnamed Tam, was at the ATM machine when a man holding a knife shouted “robbery”. Tam turned around to face the robber showing that he was not intimated and engaged in a brief struggle with him.
The robber saw others approaching the cash center so made a run.
Tam did not lose any money but reported the incident to the police. Authorities are currently reviewing HSBC’s CCTV footage to identify the failed robber.
