Experts warn that playgroups are breeding ground for illnesses

With Hong Kong’s competitive school systems, parents are sending their children to playgroups earlier and earlier, with six and seven month old babies training their motor skill developments in playgroup classes.

But experts warn that these playgroups are not only ineffective in giving children a competitive edge, but also increase the risk of contracting all kinds of bacteria and viruses, especially respiratory diseases, causing the child to fall ill frequently.

Parents should consider carefully before enrolling their young children in pre-school classes.
