The Consumer Council claimed that even expensive baby strollers sold in Hong Kong have failed their safety tests.
According to the Council seven models failed their safety tests after examining 19 strollers, with the most expensive stroller being HK$14,860.
The models tested were Combi, Capella, Aprica, Peg-Perego, Britax B-Smart, Britax Affinity and Chicco.
According to the Council some failed EU safety standards which had gaps and holes where the child could have fingers and toes caught in. Some strollers had easily detachable bits that babies can bite and choke on. Some even had faulty safety locks so a child could be trapped if a stroller suddenly folds, reports the SCMP.
