Bruce Lee, a Hong Kong icon beloved by the world, has been made into a wax figure for the Madame Tussauds in Times Square, New York. He joins the likes of Queen Elizabeth and Michael Jackson to be immortalized as creepy, shiny, life-size clones of themselves.
The Director of the Hong Kong Economic Trade Office in New York, Steve Barclay, officially unveiled the figure on Aug. 13.
“[Bruce Lee] transcended East and West, making him a cultural phenomenon,” Barclay said.
“Charismatic and enigmatic, he introduced Chinese kung fu to Hollywood. Merging philosophy into the world of martial arts, he fascinated thousands of movie fans and introduced Hong Kong films into the international film arena.”
The Bruce Lee figure is wearing the classic black-and-yellow jumpsuit from “Game of Death”, and will be on display for the rest of the summer, after which he will go on a tour in China.
