A 71-year-old woman was hit by a double-decker bus at around noon yesterday in Sha Tin.
She was inside the New Town Plaza terminus when the route 283 KMB bus struck her, reports Apple Daily. Her legs were crushed by the front left wheel.
SF Tam shared photos of the incident to the Hong Kong Incidents Facebook Group, writing that his friend WhatsApped him the pictures.
Passersby immediately called the police and comforted the woman until help arrived.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and freed her from under the bus. She was sent to hospital with serious injuries.
The 63-year-old male driver of the bus was arrested for dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm.
The investigation is ongoing.
